First of all, the Seymour Duncan Distortion is a fantastic pickup that will give you power, clarity, and tone that will make you not want to put your guitar down.

It has a tight low end, searing highs, and a midrange bite that will cut through any mix, live or in the studio.

I have it in a Gibson Les Paul Custom and it sounds killer, and ... It cleans up amazingly ... I mean from sparkling clean, to crunch, and all the way up to shred caliber soloing; all just by using my guitar's volume knob!

I like the Distortion, because it cuts out the hi-mids and gives your guitar a tight
low end.

Habe mir den SH-6 in meine Gibson LP Studio eingebaut, da ich mittlerweile hauptsächlich nur noch Heavy Rock und Metal spiele und der standardmäßig eingebaute 498T in derartigen Gainbereichen einfach zu verwaschen und undefiniert klingt.

Der Einbau war relativ einfach und verlief problemlos.
Um mir ein erstes Bild vom Klang zu schaffen wurden erstmal wieder 10.-46. Saiten draufgezogen und die Gitarre auf E Standard gestimmt.
Der Sound der daraufhin aus dem Verstärker kam hat mich einfach umgehauen! Selbst mit Gain auf 100% (Orange Dark Terror) konnte ich aus Akkorden jede einzelne Saite raushören, hinter jedem Anschlag war auf einmal so viel Druck dass ich die Gitarre gar nicht mehr aus den Händen legen wollte.
Aber nun gings ans eingemachte:
11.-56. Saiten draufgepackt und ab ging die Post! Ich spiele standardmäßig in Drop C und da klingt der PU (meiner Meinung nach) nochmal ne Ecke besser als in E Standard.
Ich konnte schrabben und in die Saiten schlagen wie ich wollte hinter jedem Ton war so viel Druck und Klang das mir fast die Ohren abfielen.

Gesplittet wird der PU etwas wärmer und man sollte das Gain wieder etwas runterdrehen, da sonst etwas Definition verloren geht. Im cleanen Bereich wird er etwas höhenlastig (hat son Distortion Tonabnehmer aber an sich) da kann man aber mit dem Volume Regler der Gitarre dagegenwirken. Wirklich wohlfühlen tut er sich eben von Crunch bis High Gain.

Wirklich schwächeln tut er erst wenns Richtung Drop A geht, ich würde aber sowieso jedem ab Drop B empfehlen richtig aggresive (Nazgul oder Black Winter) oder gleich aktive Tonabnehmer zu kaufen.

Dank diesem kleinen Ding macht Gitarre spielen gleich wieder 10x mal mehr Spaß und Headbangen beim üben ist jetzt auch vorprogrammiert :D

Me gusta el sonido de la SH6 para el puente frente a la SH4 porque es un poco más dura en los medios y el sonido es más compacto. La tengo puesta junto a una SH2 en el cuello y estando ambas a más o menos la misma altura no se nota mucho el salto de ganancia. Muy satisfecho con el cambio que he escogido y el producto particularmente.
