Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot ST-Standard Set

5.0 out of 5 stars from 20 customer ratings ()

Set of Single Coil Pickups

Lindy’s Strat pickups are exact replicas of the Fender pickups from the late 1950s and early 1960s. The pickups sound very open and lively, supporting the sound spectrum of the guitar without altering its natural character, even when used with high-gain amplifier circuits. As with all Fralin pickups, the windings are hand-wound. Only the same high-quality materials are used as back in the day:

  • Vintage hot ST standard model
  • Black coil bobbins
  • 42-gauge Formvar (orange) wire
  • Alnico 5 magnets
  • Staggered magnets to 1955 specifications
  • Pre-cut pickup cables for each installation position
  • Output power: 6 – 7 K
  • Colour: Vintage White

There are, however, a few minor improvements:

  • Each pickup is wound specifically for its respective position (bridge – middle – neck). This results in a very balanced volume ratio.
  • The middle pickup is wound with ‘reverse polarity’, which eliminates the usual hum associated with single-coils in the middle positions.
  • All Fralin pickups are significantly better wax potted than the old Fender pickups. As a result, they do not produce any feedback, even at higher volumes.

Classic Strat sounds
Too many guitars 25.02.2020
These pickups are a low output type which I find gives tones similiar to a 60's strat I have played. The sweet spot for me is the just breaking up type of sound where they sound good with clarity and a sweetness to the treble which i may be described as bell like. The key here is clarity with good response to plectrum picking and finger pick good definition between strings with tons of spanky attack. There really is not a bad sound here what ever the setting, quality gear.

They are not cheap but I will be enjoying the tone long after I have forgotten about the price
