Leaves a solid overall impression
Gleb Big B 25.02.2026
The build quality is very good, with clean finishing, properly installed hardware, and no visible flaws. The instrument feels reliable and well assembled right out of the box. The black body combined with a maple neck looks very striking.

The sound is balanced and versatile. It delivers the classic Jazz Bass character with clear lows, defined mids, and enough articulation for different genres. It works well both in live situations and in studio recording, where it sits in the mix without excessive EQ adjustments.

One point worth mentioning is the factory setup. The string action was noticeably high when I received it. It required a minor adjustment to achieve comfortable playability. This is not a serious issue, but it is something buyers may want to be aware of before purchasing.

Overall, it is a well made and versatile bass with strong tonal performance.

A Solid Choice if you are looking for a versatile bass.

This is my first bass and I wanted a versatile instrument to track some bass for my songs. I was initially considering buying a J-Bass inspired model from another popular brand around the 500 euro mark, but when Fender announced the Jazz Bass Player Series II, I decided to go for it instead.

The combination of the black body and black pickguard with a maple fretboard reminded me of David Gilmour's Black Strat so I was immediately sold! Given my great experience with a Player Series Stratocaster, I chose the Jazz Bass even though it was nearly twice the price of the other bass I was considering.

I wanted to invest in an instrument that would not make me doubt my choice, and I'm glad I did. The bass arrived from Thomann in pristine condition and only required minimal setup, as it was pretty decent straight out of the factory.

Overall, I am very happy with the sound, feel and look of this instrument. The tone is rich and versatile, and the build quality is excellent. The rolled fretboard edges on are a nice feature as well.

If you're on the fence about investing in a Fender, I can confidently say this bass is worth it.
