have a niche situation on mac where using dante in ableton and outputting through USB interfaces, the dante connections on mac is extremely unstable. works fine on windows though

Es hat wirklich lange gedauert, bis ich den Nutzen von Dante verstanden habe, denn ich habe lange Jahre irrigerweise auf USB gesetzt. Dabei ist er offensichtlich: Wo USB für jedes Pult / jede angeschlossene Hardware einen eigenen Treiber benötigt, ist Dante eine Allround-Lösung, denn jedes Dante-fähige Bauteil versteht sich sofort mit der virtuellen Soundkarte.

Ein paar Tipps, die ich mir bei der ersten Nutzung gewünscht hätte: Ein Gigabit-Netzwerk sollte es sein. Cat8-Kabel funktionieren ideal. Die Dante Virtual Soundcard ist NUR in Verbindung mit dem - kostenlosen - Dante Controller Programm nutzbar.

Und GANZ WICHTIG: Ein Dante-fähiges Mischpult lässt sich NICHT direkt mit der Ethernet-Buchse am PC / Mac verbinden. Es MUSS ein Gigabit-Switch dazwischen sein! Ich wünschte, das hätte mir bei ersten Mal jemand gesagt...

Die Benutzung ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber kein Hexenwerk und Audinate stellt umfassende Dokumentationen und Videos bereit. Sehr zu empfehlen, vor allem für das Live-Recording!

Je m'en sers pour de l'enregistrement live principalement, et aucun souci, ça marche bien, c'est assez simple (quand on connaît le Dante, sinon il faudra un peu de formation pour comprendre la logique du protocole et ses subtilités).
Mon pc date de 2015/16, et il n'a pas de soucis pour enregistrer sur Reaper via le DVS donc je dirais qu'il n'est pas trop lourd niveau ressources, mais je n'ai pas mesuré non plus.
Il faut avouer qu'avoir une interface Dante en branchant seulement un câble ethernet sur le PC est vraiment pratique, surtout en (petite) tournée, quand la place est un point critique...
