In der Tat kann ich insgesamt ein besseres Ansprechverhalten des Horns feststellen:
Das untere Register spricht ein wenig besser an, Flagolettöne „rasten besser ein“. Über den gesamten Registerbereich gleicht sich der Klang etwas an, ohne den „Sound“ zu beeinflussen. Bei etwas höherem Luftdruck schreit das Horn nicht so in den höheren Lagen. Praktisch ist, dass diese Schraube drei Gewichtungen bietet. In meinem Fall passt die Grundschraube plus das kleinere der beiden Gewichte.
Yamaha verwendet für seine Ateliermodelle (YTS 82zASP) tatsächlich auch eine schwerere S-Bogenschraube. Wohl nicht ohne Grund...

Für das Feintuning eines Saxophons ist die Schraube sehr gut. Ein Anfänger wird damit nicht besser oder schlechter spielen.

Nachdem auf der als objektiv bekannten Site neffmusic.com ein Review über diese schwergewichtigen S-Bogenschrauben erschienen ist, was tatsächlich auf einen spürbaren Effekt schließen lässt, wollte ich es selbst testen. Und siehe da, es scheint kein Voodoo zu sein. Der Effekt ist kaum hörbar, macht sich bei mir jedoch in einer etwas leichteren Ansprache der tiefen Töne bemerkbar. Ich verwende die Schraube ohne eines der beiden Zusatzteile. Mit diesen kam es mir so vor, als ob der Widerstand sich zu sehr erhöht, ohne das sich der positive Effekt weiter verstärkt.
