This is a great instrument. I needed a tenor that wouldn?t let me down without paying a fortune. You can?t go wrong with a Yamaha be it sax, bike, drums... Mine played great from top to bottom straight out of the box as did another I tested that led me to order this. I am playing for a living so I needed something that would play well without the big price tag. This horn does that. Plays in tune, lovely tone. Not too heavy. The key layout is a lot better than my old tenors. Below low C you can play faster parts easily whatever way they have set up those keys. The whole package is high quality. Beautiful finish. Nice modern case with loads of room inside for your mic and cable, multiple mouthpieces etc. The outer pocket has room for my laptop and cables and a bluetooth speaker so no messing around with two bags heading to the practice rooms, The backpack straps are comfy and balanced so you?re not twisting your back from having all the weight on one shoulder like a Gator case I had.

You can?t go wrong with this horn. For a student or for gigging with. There seems to be nothing lacking.

I got the sax for over 2 weeks now, and i can tell you right away that this is a very good saxophone. It's got a rich sound from fog horn to saxissimo and the keys are very wel placed and so easy to play. It feels very sturdy, bud i can't tell this so fast for shure, bud Yamaha lives up his name so i'm not worried aboud that. Very nice :)

Great for a rank beginner!

I am only starting out so do not know anything much about the sax world. This Yamaha, made in Indonesia, looks well built, clean and precise, nice finish. Very well packed. Just one point for those who know nothing like me - the sax as delivered has about 10 small pieces of cork to block the mechanism during transport. A warning on this somewhere in the documentation would be very practical as not all the cork is easy to see and can be confused with tiny cork stops on lever ends that must not be removed. Otherwise, after lesson number 1, I am more than happy with this purchase.
