Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic 6 Fretless Black, six-string fretless bass guitar

The Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic 6 is the German bass manufacturer's most affordable six-string model – and a modern classic. The unique Corvette shape makes a real statement, leaving no doubt that this is a thoroughly contemporary instrument. The two-piece alder body comes in a deep black high-gloss finish and delivers a warm, balanced tonal foundation, with this fretless instrument's distinctive singing highs and defined mids provided by its pair of active soapbar MEC pickups. An active 2-band EQ allows bass and treble to be boosted or cut as needed. All in all, the six-string Corvette offers modern bassists a wide range of musical options.

So flexible and yet so precise

The technical details alone mark the Warwick RB Corvette Basic 6 Fretless out as a versatile, precisely crafted modern bass. Its bolt-on, laminate maple neck is reinforced with two carbon strips for extra stability. The fingerboard is made from tigerstripe ebony: It's smooth to play and nice to look at, too. The Corvette 6 is a six-string, so of course it has a broader nut width (52mm), although the string spacing (16.5mm) and the ultra-flat fingerboard (a nearly planar radius of 47") contribute to its remarkable playability. And individual adjustments have been made easy with a tedur Just-A-Nut III nut, a two-way truss rod, and quick-access covers. On top of that, the rear electronics compartment is shielded internally – so interference won't be an issue.

A versatile bass for well-versed bassists

More advanced and professional players will find that the Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic 6 Fretless has many strings to its bow: It gives seasoned musicians access to almost four full octaves, more than enough for deep fundamentals, complex lines, and demanding solos. As such, it's ideal for Jazz, Rock and Fusion (where its fluid fretless playability will really shine), as well as for Funk or the huge variety of Progressive genres, where the low B string and high C string make the musical options almost endless. All this, combined with its fine-grained pickup and EQ controls, provide a vast arsenal of expressive possibilities. This complexity, and the long scale length and wide neck, make this bass an instrument for musicians with plenty of experience and the physical dimensions to match.

About Warwick

Based in Markneukirchen, Saxony, Warwick, initially a manufacturer of premium basses, is known today for providing a wide range of music equipment in all sectors of the industry. The product range extends from bass guitars, bass amplifiers and cabinets (in all price brackets), bass strings and accessories, to effects units. In addition to this core business, the Warwick Distribution sales company offers almost everything that bass players, whether of four, six or even more string instruments, could require. Among them are the instruments of the Framus brand, which are remarkable for their consistently high quality. In addition to its headquarters in Markneukirchen, Warwick also has locations in Nashville and Shanghai.

Brilliant sound, balanced handling

Solidly built and precisely crafted – as bassists the world over have come to expect from Warwick – the RockBass Corvette Basic 6 Fretless will deliver the goods wherever its owner chooses to use it. Its tonewoods, active pickups, and controls produce a clearly defined low end with the assertive mids that Warwick basses are known for. Thanks to the robust rigidity of its neck components and the Warwick Security Locks, for added strap security, it'll also be a reliable companion on tour, from arenas to festivals and everything in between. And for a six-string, it isn't even all that heavy – weighing in at just 4.5kg, the Corvette 6 is comfortable enough to play throughout even the most epic sets without fatigue.

Great Bass, very bad setup
Dudescu 31.03.2022
The bass is amazing, the strings it came with were horrible, almost unplayable. The setup un-playable. I had to send to professional luthier to fix this. Once the setup has been done the pass plays very well and I love the sound. I also got the Harley Benton Progressive 6 string fretless bass. Considering the value per buck I recommend the Harley Benton. The main point for this Warwick is the tigerstripe ebony which plays amazingly

Zuallererst:
Der Bass fönt alles weg. Klanglich absolut fantastisch.
