Ich habe die Sticks für meinen Sohn (9 Jahre) als Schlagzeuganfänger auf einem E-Drum Kit besorgt. Wir haben zum Vergleich die gleichen Vic Firth Terra in 5A, sowie die Nova Hickory in 7A. Diese hier sind von der Balance her sehr viel besser und angenehmer als die Nova Sticks. Auch die Verarbeitung ist merklich besser. Die Novas scheinen vorne etwas dicker zu sein und fallen deswegen zu stark nach vorne. Das stört irgendwie den Flow beim Spielen.

Die Optik der Terra Serie ist super schön, das Holz kommt richtig zur Geltung.

Als Anfänger finden wir bei den Vic Firth auch ganz nett, dass sich anscheinend die aufgedruckte Flagge gut als Guide für die richtige Platzierung der Finger und den richtigen Griff nutzen lässt. Mit Zeigefinger und Daumen dort gehalten haben sie den besten Rebound und Balance.

Ich spiele schon seit Jahren die Vic Firth 7AN American Classic Hickory , und weil die in der EU immer teuer sind als in den USA (sticks generell), hab ich nach Alternativen umgeschaut. Die NOVA-Serie (bei denen man auf der Vic Firth Homepage komischerweise nichts findet) sind schon völlig anders: sie sind anders gewichtet, vlt etwas schwerer und der Schwerpunkt ist weiter vorne, weil auch eine andere Form. Für mich einfach zu träge.
Zurück zu den Terra:
Die Form der Terra ist absolut identisch mit den 7AN American Classic Hickory, so konnte ich auch beim spielen keine Unterschiede feststellen. Wenn man sie aneinander schlägt klingen sie noch (angenehm) hölzerner, als das Original, sprich eine gute Alternative.
Aber: Wozu? inzwischen ist auch der Preis identisch, die Intenteion war aber etwas günstigeres anzubieten :-/ daher Punktabzug
