High-performance beam
The Varytec Hero Beam 100 is a moving head that is engineered for precisely focused beams and delivers an outstanding light output for its price range, combining intensity with precise control. Together with its narrow beam angle, it also comes with features not always found in this class, including two faceted prisms, gobos, and a motorised focus for detailed adjustments, and despite its brightness, the three-speed fan ensures quiet operation while the adjustable pulse width modulation allows seamless integration with cameras in streaming or video environments. As its weight indicates, this moving head is designed for fixed installation and can be placed on the floor or mounted on a rig using the included Omega brackets, and it can be easily integrated into existing setups via three and five-pin DMX connections.
A wide variety of prisms
The 100W LED produces up to 80,000 lux at a distance of five metres, concentrated within a narrow beam angle of 2.5° that provides focused and well-defined light output. To shape the light beam, the unit features a rotatable linear six-facet prism and a rotatable circular 16-facet prism, complemented by a motorised focus and a static wheel with eleven gobos. For additional variation, a separate colour wheel provides eleven colours plus white, as well as colour mixing and a flowing rainbow effect, enabling smooth transitions and subtle colour changes. The unit is operated either via the built-in menu controls or an optional DMX controller, with adjustable pulse width modulation and three fan modes offering a balance between performance and quiet operation, reaching a total power consumption of up to 150W.
Rotating show effects
Operators of small to medium-sized venues seeking a versatile spotlight for events and parties will find in the Varytec Hero Beam 100 a powerful show spotlight with two prisms, whose automatic programmes and music control make it easy to operate. In nightclubs, pulse and strobe functions can be used to set the atmosphere on the dance floor, with reliable operation ensured in live music settings by features such as the automatic position correction and secure power twist connections. Control via six or 19 DMX channels allows for custom programming in more detailed setups, and quieter operation in silent mode, along with the ability to dim while moving, contribute to smooth and unobtrusive scene transitions.
About Varytec
Over the years, Thomann has greatly enriched its already extensive range of lighting products with its in-house brand Varytec. In addition to LED spotlights, theatre lighting, and moving lights, Varytec offers an arsenal of matching accessories. Tripods, cables, power distributors, and all kinds of other components are, like the lighting solutions themselves, manufactured by well-known names in the field. The firm's direct sales approach, which eliminates intermediate retailers, ensures that all of these products are nevertheless attractively priced. Varytec's range comprises well over 200 items, which will illuminate everything from home-streamer setups to photo studios, theatres, and concert halls.
Even more outrageous, please
Using the Varytec Hero Beam 100 with gobos allows the patterns to be projected not only onto surfaces but also into the air, adding depth to the overall effect. This works best with a hazer suited to the size of the room, as its otherwise invisible mist clearly reflects the light beams. For a denser and more immersive look, multiple units can be linked via DMX in master-slave mode, creating coordinated lighting performance across multiple units. Using a 19-channel DMX controller, functions such as the gobo shake can then be set simultaneously across all connected units, enabling simple and consistent control.
