Unnecessary if you already own a good audio interface
The FetHead is often purchased for microphones with high gain, such as the SM7B. If you already own a low-noise audio interface/preamp that provides sufficient clean gain (for the SM7B this would be around 55 dB to 60 dB), this is completely useless. And if not, it might be better to save up for an interface with better preamps (Yamaha, SSL, Motu, Audient) instead of spending €69 on the FetHead.
This device was a decent option at the time of its release, but is no longer necessary given the good quality of budget interfaces available today.

Not too convinced
I've been using the FetHead for about three years and... honestly, it could be better.
It was working pretty well in the beginning, doing its job, no distortion, highs or lows boost, reasonable product for the price. But after about 2 years of using it the contact isn't as snug as it used to be, causing my mic to produce only static noise when moved.
Simply put, great for beginners, does its job, but sadly not great longetivity in my specific case.

Maybe a faulty one?
My FetHead unfortunately tends to disconnect, causing the microphone to mute, depending on the position. Seems something inside isn't soldered very well. I will be probably buying Cloudlifter to repleace it.
