Bang for the buck

This filter has served all my filtering needs for the eurorack. I mainly use it with Make Noise maths to create the desired wobble effect when I patch it into lowpass filter. All in all, I am very pleased with the module and have nothing to bad to say about it. It's very affordable!

Beautiful interpretation of a classic filter

The Tiptop Audio Forbidden Planet is a great-sounding filter, modeled after the filter from the seventies' synthesizer Steiner Parker Synthacon. It is a 2-pole (12db/oct) filter, but don't let that fool you. This has more character from sweet and mellow to raw and harsh category than many other filters.

I also like the decision to implement different filter types as inputs into one output. Being rather rare, it makes it possible to mix signals through the filter.

Sehr netter Filter mit viel Grundresonanz

Das Gute zu erst:

Top Verarbeitet und fetter Sound.

Warum ich ihn dennoch zurückgeschickt habe:

Er hat mir selbst mit null Resonance noch einen zu bissigen Sound der klingt als würde man die Resonance schon auf 20% haben.

Vielleicht nicht negativ aber nicht nachvollziehbar:

Drei Eingänge (HP, BP, LP) statt drei Ausgängen wie üblich. War mir natürlich klar vorher.
Es gibt ein Volume-Pot, aber ohne CV. Mit Filtern die VCAs eingebaut haben lassen sich super easy LoPassGates basteln (zB MI Ripples, ALM M8). Warum hier nur ein Poti verbaut ist erschließt sich mir nicht.

Fazit: Super Filter für jemanden der einen aggressiveren MS20 mässigen Sound sucht. Nichts für zarte Gemüter :)

Uitstekende filter die net even anders is

De meeste multi mode filters hebben 1 ingang en meerdere uitgangen voor de verschillende filters. Bij deze module is dat net andersom. In het begin even wennen maar het biedt nieuwe mogelijkheden.

De verschillende input signalen worden door de module intern gemixt tot 1 output. Dat levert geluiden op die je met "normale" multi mixers niet kunt bereiken.

Het enige nadeel is dat je geen invloed hebt op hoe de inputs gemixt worden. Attenuators voor de verschillende inputs zou daarom wel fijn zijn.

Al met al is het een goed klinkende filter die net even anders is. Daardoor is het mijns inziens een toffe toevoeging aan je eurorack.
