it is beautiful instrument, that is slightly marred by it lack of resonance. It is *very* quiet when played with fingers.
Paired with low-G Aquila Reds and a soft pick really makes it glow up though. As I often carry it on medieval fair, I found that using feather as pick not only looks awesome, but also brings the ukulele-lute to life. Played that way it also becomes a LOT louder and even better sounding.
Another minor gripe another reviewer already mentioned is that the tuners have trouble holding the tension. You can even see them turning back of their own.
Still ... I'd really recommend it if a real lute is too expensive and/or you just love special types of ukulele.
