For a model in this price range to have two woofers as standard will be music to the ears of all its listeners – and it also explains the difference in price between the MKIII shown here and the comparable the box pro Achat 118 Bass. The 18" woofers of the MKIII also come in much larger than the 12" ones fitted in Thomann's the box pro Achat 212H-SUB. And when the TP218/1600 MKIII's extraordinary power handling capacity is also factored in, the value for money on offer here should be crystal clear. This low-end specialist can be easily combined with a whole host of full-range systems, fitted as it is with all the standard connections.

Stable flexibility, flexible stability

The box pro TP218/1600 MkIII can be wired up with either twin-core or four-core speaker cables, which carry the signal for the tops on either the first or second pair of wires. In either case, a suitable amp is required to operate the subwoofer. Before connecting, the user simply needs to turn the cover of the parallel-wired socket pairs to reveal the desired operating mode. The speaker twist sockets are one of the few moving parts in an immensely robust enclosure, which also has a sturdy steel grille mounted on the front. Rubber feet below, and the matching recesses above, are provided for stacking, and other mounting options can be quickly realised with the appropriate accessories, all of which are sold separately. Inside, the 18" speakers of this model, which has an impedance of 4 ohms, offer a power handling capacity of 1600W (AES) in a frequency range of 34 to 150Hz.

Expandable variety

Sound - Fundament

Habe zwei dieser Subwoofer als Fundament für zwei JBL (2x15") Topteile gekauft.
So bilden die Basstürme sowohl klanglich, als auch konstruktiv das Fundament ;-)

Der Sound ist Extraklasse! Schön fett, mit Hose flattern auf 20Meter Distanz bei entsprechendem Pegel! Trotz reichlich Membranfläche ist der Sound schön direkt - Doublebassdrumming und schnelle Orgel- Basslinien werden hervorragend wiedergegeben. Betrieben werden die Bässe mit einer Proline 3000 von the t.amp.

Handling - Auf der Ober- und Unterseite sind jeweils(!) 8 stabile Metallgriffe versenkt, so dass man die gut 80Kg schwere Box sicher transportieren kann. Leider gibt es an den Längsseiten GAR KEINE(!!!) Griffe. Hier gibt es Abzug!

Ansonsten runden stabile Gummifüße an einer Grundseite und einer Längsseite, Mulden für die Gummifüße eines 2ten Subwoofers beim stacken, vorgedrehte Gewinde für Blueweels, sowie einige M20 Gewinde das Ausstattungsbild ab.

Verarbeitung - Der Lack hält nicht wirklich... Nicht gut!

Fazit:
Wer diese Riesen transportieren kann und schleppen will - zugreifen!
Preis/Leistung: Sehr gut! Bei mehr Griffen und besserem Lack: Top!

Bass Boxen

Wir sind eine kleine Band und sind sehr viel auf Tour. Da wir mittlerweile Zelte bis 1000 Personen unterhalten, mussten wir unser Equipment erneuern. Für uns war auch klar, das wir keine AMP für 15000 Euro anschaffen können, um solche Zelte zu beschallen.

Wri waren bei der Wahl erst recht skeptisch, aber es hat sich gezeigt, dass es das Beste war, was mir machen konnten. Auch wenn eine Box 80kg wiegt, das ist der Kompromiss.

Die Bässe sind sehr satt und durchdringend und gerade bei aktueller Chart- Musik kann man wirklich spüren wie das durch den Magen geht. Auch auf weite Distanz noch.

Bei Oldies klingen die Bässe klar und verzerren nicht. Über den gesamten Frequenzbereich ist der Druck harmonisch mit dem Gesamtklangbild unser anderen Boxen.

Mächtig Dampf

Die Bassbox macht ordentlich Druck zum senstionellen Preis. Meiner Meinung nach überzeugt die the box pro Serie auf ganzer Linie. Um diesen Preis kann man nichts falsch machen.
Kritiker, die behaupten, die Thomann Lautsprecher würden nichts taugen, haben keine Ahnung von der Materie. Der Sound der Boxen wird maßgäblich vom Know- How des Tontechnikers beeinflusst, mit der richtigen Controllern kann man den Teilen einiges entlocken.

Gute Box für wenig Geld

Habe 2 von diesen Boxen für Discopartys gekauft. Betrieben habe ich sie mit 2 Powermaxx MS6500 die zu schwach für die Boxen sind. Trotzdem sehr guter Druck. Demnächst kommen 2 Proline 3000 dran. Dann bebt die Bude. Hatte sie bis jetzt 2 mal im Einsatz und bin sehr zufrieden. Im freien sind die nicht so pralle da es ja Bassreflex Bässe sind.

Aber für den Preis nur zu empfehlen!
