Good but not really necessary

I use it as an addition to CTP-3 on my Takamine. It gives some additional body to the sound. But the changes are not dramatic, and if you turn it all the way up the soundboar becomes too sensitive. Also I don’t use it when playing full band as it causes more feedback. Only for solo or small acoustic gigs.

Jeanjean Takamine 29.04.2021

A
Phenomenal, along with CT4-DX preamp

Beyond the usual, super fast and reliable shipping (thank you Thomann!), let me say this pick up sounds fantastic.
I hate to travel with tons of gear. I have owned a good amount of IR’s loaders, with the sound of which I have never really been satisfied. With this system, all I need is a guitar cable.
I mounted it by myself in my Takamine E-80 nylon strings guitar in about 10 minutes.
THE MOUNTING POSITION UNDER THE SOUNDBOARD IS CRUCIAL.
I’ve placed it in the suggested spot, under the bridge slightly on the treble side.
When plugged in the aux input of the Takamine CT4-DX you can dial any possible tone.
The preamp itself has got a little switch, accessible at any time from the sound hole, that allows you to use it in single and you mode.
In single mode, as obvious, only the piezo is working, and the onboard 4 bands eq works as labeled: lows, low mids, high mids and treble. You also have two different notch knobs to fine tune the mid frequencies and/or to fight Feedback.
When in dual mode, the eq splits in two: two bands (low and high) for both sources and one notch filter each. Of course you can blend the piezo and the soundboard transducer with its dedicated knob.
I could not ask for anything better and I highly recommend this system to anybody who needs a real mistic nylon string guitar tone, very close the sound of a miked guitar
