I am not impressed

It’s not bad at all, but considering its price point, it really should deliver better sound quality.

I bought the Strymon Cloudburst to replace my old Supernatural Reverb, which I’ve never liked. Based on YouTube demos, this little box sounded phenomenal, so my expectations were pretty high.

In reality, I did appreciate how quick and easy it is to dial in the desired reverb, and I like the two different modes they can create a nice string pad like background. However, to my ears, it sounds very digital (yes, I know it’s a digital reverb). Once you start turning up the Tone knob, the reverb tails begin to sound quite artificial; turn it down, and things get muddy.

Another issue is the Mix control below 12 o’clock, the wet and dry signals feel disconnected, almost like they’re coming from two different sources. I tried it with two different amps and cabinets, but the result was the same.

In the end, I switched back to my old Supernatural, and to my surprise, it sounded bright, open, and sat perfectly in the mix. I honestly expected more from Strymon, especially at this price point.
