Soldano SLO Plus Overdrive

I was super excited getting this pedal, watched all videos I could find on YT and decided to pull the trigger on this 300€ pedal. Once plugged it felt super weird, didn’t sound anything like expected. Tested in front of a fender clean tube amp, as first pedal in the fx loop, single coils, medium and high output humbuckers, basically anything I own. It sounded “off”, tons of gain as you’d expect but thin-ish, with weird high frequencies, engaging the deep switch on the side would make low freqs flubby… I wanted it so bad because I love the SLO tones but ended up returning it in a couple days, unfortunately I suspect the unit was faulty. Maybe in the future I’ll give it another chance. Build quality and looks are top notch and the size is just perfect.
