Perfect for covering a wide range of styles
Anonymous 03.03.2014
My favorite pickup of the pair is the Jazz neck pickup, it sounds incredible and is one of my favorite humbuckers ever. As you would expect from Seymour Duncan the quality is as good as anything else even pickups costing 2 or 3 times as much. I found the pair to be perfect for covering a lot of styles which is great when doing a good mix of both live and studio work. I used these in a US made PRS Starla and they generally blended really well with it though I personally think that they would be better suited to something with a maple cap like a Les Paul. The Jeff Beck signature bridge pickup is generally great it has a really distinct mid range spike which means that it really cuts through mix well though when used with something like a tubescreamer (I was using a Maxon OD9) it can get a bit too much and become a little muddy, I used them with a Fulltone OCD and that seemed to work exceptionally with it! Generally though really impressed and would recommend if your after a versatile set of pickups to cover everything from Jazz to Hard Rock!

Not my cup of tea after all

I had been eying these pickups since I started playing, and was immensely let down. The feel of these pickups is something else once you try it for yourself. I imagined they would be more high output, as I've heard recordings done with these. Not bad pickups by any means, just not what I was looking for. I bought these over 10 years ago, and I'm just writing a review for them now. Since then, I've come to love the Dimarzio Super Distortion and Super 2 as a combo, and I have it in almost all of my guitars.

Well very nice and wise choice if u like to go from clean till light metal.
Didn't hold very well super high gain , as the point of I want.
But classical heavy metal sounds killer.
And a neck pickup is super brilliant and warm at cleans , when coil split it, not very loud, but still enough
.

I suspect that the JB Hot-Rodded kit is better than I think. In this case it just was not the sound I was looking for. It might be that I am just more of an Alternative-8 aficionado.
