First pair of ANC headphones so quite surprised me to hear the headphones actually produce an additional white noise to cancel outside ambient sounds. This is fine when listening at normal levels. You won't hear the ANC generated noise. However if you're using these at very low volume, like at night time while trying to call asleep, you will most definitely hear it. And what's worse is you can't turn it off. According to Reddit post you CAN turn it off with latest firmware. Mine came with latest firmware, and would not let my update. I therefore could not disable ANC and use them like regular Bluetooth headphones. This made them unusable at night when trying to fall asleep. If you are going to be using these at really low volumes you WILL hear this generated white noise and it WILL annoy the hell out of you. Other users in the Reddit thread say they were about to turn it off in the app with latest firmware. That was NOT my experience. Other than that they are really good as to be expected with this brand. And at normal volume levels they work perfectly. It's just in that user case when you want to listen at nighttime beside your partner and very low volume, they are unusable. I therefore had to return. This was first time I've had to return a product to Thomann. No issues at all with this. Free postage. Refund followed later. Excellent service as always.
