I purchased S-hoops for all my toms, changed from 1.6 to these S-hoops, it totally changed the sound making it more focused and decreased unwanted overtones which helped a lot in recording drums

a good solid chunk of metal.
well manufactured drumhoop with a top lip that is folded inwards.
kinder on drum sticks than ordinary hoops but more rigid.
tuning the drum head is a wee bit easier as the s-hoop helps focus the sound better.
middle ground between diecast and triple flange hoops!

The S-Hoop is ideal for a more stable tuning and because the flange turns inwards it holds damper studio rings in place.
