Excellent replacement for an old product.

I have been trying for around 40 years to find a replacement for a wonderful pair of retractable brushes made by Ludwig that I bought in the 70's/80's ( it was so long ago I can't really remember) in London. They were of such good quality that I still use them.

I am very pleased to say that these JB2 from Rohema are exactly what I have been looking for. The balance is superb and the sound they give is very crisp .The wires seem to be of very good quality steel and I can only hope that they last as well. I can't find any cons so far.

I also have a pair of JB1 wood handled brushes which I have already rated as very good so I am a fan of this make.

Nice brushes but very fine

These are nice good quality brushes with an excellent feel. They seem well made - but the wires are very fine. I use real hide skins (Kentville Kangaroo hide) and these brushes do not work well with them. The wires are so fine they seem to dig into the skin and catch, very easily. It is a struggle to play a nice smooth sweep without getting nasty noises you don't want. They would probably be good on a plastic skin with a nice synthetic surface.
