Fantastic neck profile (feels almost like a fat soft V to C), great pickups (sound like Texas Specials as humbuckers), great finish and quality (as usual for PRS SEs).
The wiring takes getting used to. I dig it now - the two volumes make sense as they provide more flexibility for the middle position.

GB
My New #1!
GF. Big 31.10.2025
I have, I think, 7 electric guitars, none with a functional tremolo. I tried another guitar before this one, but it didn't fit me well. The action was stiff, and it was an offset body, which I didn't find comfortable at all. So, I sent it back to Thomann.
After a lot of research, I decided to try this model. I watched a score of videos on YT, and they were all effusive in their praise regarding fit and finish out of the box, which is important to me because my Meistergitarrenbauer friend has retired! So, I had no room to maneuver if there was anything wrong with it. I can do very basic things myself, but a fret dress isn't one of them. This guitar was very close to perfect. The intonation is slightly off on the 6th (E) string, and the action is a touch high for me, which I will remedy myself.
As for the rest: I was a bit skeptical about PRS necks. 'Wide-Thin' does not suit my left hand well. This model got my attention because the neck is a more traditional form. A number of reviews have called it 'chunky' like an old Gibson, but I've had Gibsons that had the 'baseball bat' neck, and the neck on this PRS is really nowhere near that. It fits my left hand perfectly.
The guitar isn't too heavy, which is welcome to this old dude! The coil split does its thing surprisingly well, and the tremolo arm is exactly what I wanted. Not for divebombing, but adding embellishments at the end of a chord phrase or something like that. I also like the 25" scale length, right between a Gibson and a Fender.
This guitar has been well thought out, and the factory set up is close to perfect. I am very pleased.

p
Couple QC issues
pzwnt 03.01.2026
Before I purchased this guitar, I had tried it in stores and decided to give an online order. The guitar shines in terms of ergonomics and aesthetics, but the quality control of my order has been a significant letdown.

The positives:
Very good and clean fret work, quality sound from pickups, holding the tune well, lightweight.

The negatives:
Faulty 3-Way Toggle: The switch has become unreliable in the bridge position since the beginning. It frequently loses connectivity, requiring me to "jiggle" the switch to get any signal.

Malfunctioning Volume Pots: Both volume pots have a terrible phase range. There is virtually no volume reduction from 10 down to 6; then, it drops to zero immediately. This makes it impossible to clean up a high-gain signal or do subtle volume swells, essentially turning the pots into on/off switches.

These are issues you simply don't expect from a brand like PRS; it's a clear sign that the factory QC was lacking. Furthermore, I expected Thomann to catch these faults before shipping, as they claim to inspect guitars before they are sent out. Unfortunately, it seems they missed the mark on my order.
