I've got about 50 of them in use and haven't had to reopen any of them in about 3 years now.
The soldering is as hard as with any jack connector (use XLRs if that's a problem).
If you're using thick cable you may have some trouble screwing the tear guard on. It barely works with my 6.5 mm sommer cable.
