Neumann MA 1

It's a gem Neumann introduced. It's a small mic per se but the magic is all in the alignment software. The measurement and setup took about half an hour; it sampled 7 listening positions around the centre. The sound field is much tightened up after the setup! Worth it.

Works as expected with KH120 + KH750DSP. Marked improvement noticeable (& measurable) after calibration. Software isn't the most user friendly around.

It totally changed the quality of my mixes. Suddenly it's possible to REALLY hear whats going on below 50Hz and that has a huge effekt on the overall balance of any mix.
Highly recommended! Even if your room already sounds good...

I firstly purchased the KH80’s and initially set them up using the iPad’s Neumann alignment app. However, I kept reading more and more reviews raving about the MA1 mic and decided to check it out for myself. Wow…is all I can say, the difference was night and day!! It was was amazing how it improved these already great speakers. I do already have some acoustic treatment in my room, but I immediately was able to hear an improvement after the alignment and therefore highly recommend this mic. It is my hope to purchase the KH750 sub next!

Putting monitors in a small room is not inocent. MA1 took my KH120 II and their sub KH750 to the point that I think that I work in the best studio around. Corrective EQs and phase alignement went from good sound to high level most precise monitoring. And it leaves place for tweaking to your own taste, own ears, so you can go from average Joe to most valuable engineer.

Excellent build quality and price point. Best in class RTA mic.

The value for money if you have Neumann KH monitors paired with a KH sub is insane. Not only does it store the correction within the monitors itself so no plugin required it also corrects the phase between the monitors/sub and linearizes everything

Using in an untreated bedroom and it may even sound better than my studio thanks to the MA1 + KH120's

Really good calibration system. Hope to use this mic with some PA tuning soon. I have isemcon for this purpose, but I assume Neumann could stand out.
Anyway the studio sounds just fantastic after calibration
