Spontaneous grooves, loops, and jams
The Mooer Groove Loop GL200 is a very successful combination of a stereo looper and a fully-featured drum machine in a compact three-switch stompbox- Both sections can be used independently or together, making the pedal equally well suited to spontaneous jams, developing song ideas, or more complex live-looping setups. There are 100 memory slots available, offering up to 800 minutes of recording time. Alongside that are more than 200 drum grooves spanning eleven different styles, plus the option to import custom drum patterns and MIDI rhythms. In addition to a touchscreen display, stereo inputs and outputs, and a headphone connection, the GL200 also includes Bluetooth audio, MIDI connectivity, and an XLR/line input with phantom power for microphones. Features such as DrumMatch, Auto Rec and Time Stretch help keep loops and drum grooves working together smoothly, without requiring constant manual adjustment.

Locked-in loops
Despite its extensive feature set, the Mooer GL200 remains straightforward to operate. The three footswitches handle familiar tasks such as recording, overdubbing, stopping playback, and switching between functions, while many other controls remain easily accessible via the touchscreen. About Mooer
Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.
Compact, practical, musical
In practical use, the Mooer GL200 quickly demonstrates just how flexible modern loopers have become. Riffs, chord progressions, and even complete song ideas can be captured on the fly and immediately expanded with drum grooves, backing tracks, or additional overdubs. When practising or jamming alone, it'll quickly give guitarists the feeling of playing alongside a small band. Bluetooth audio allows backing tracks to be patched in with ease, while MIDI and the XLR/line input open up even more possibilities for larger and more complex setups. Mooer's AI Band Technology
In including its AI Band Technology, Mooer has taken a slightly different approach with the GL200 than that offered by many traditional drum loopers. Rather than relying solely preprogrammed drum grooves that have to be selected manually, the pedal can actively analyse the incoming guitar signal and automatically adapts the accompaniment to the player's dynamics and style. The result is often surprisingly convincing drum patterns that don't require guitarists to stop playing and work thir way through endless menus or presets. For spontaneous jams or just while capturing new ideas, the experience feels noticeably more natural than using rigid, fixed drum loops.
