High-performance wireless system

The Mipro ACT-800 Series is a digital wireless microphone system that offers truly excellent audio quality, achieved primarily thanks to the receivers' fully digital signal transmission via the integrated AES/EBU, DANTE, and AVB interfaces. The 256-bit encryption means transmissions are also protected against eavesdropping. This set comprises four of the 800 Series' plug-on transmitters (the Mipro ACT-800 TA-80 5UA), which will turn any wired microphone into a wireless one, as well as the four-channel receiver (Mipro ACT-848 5UA) to go with them. All 5UA devices operate in the 482–554MHz frequency range and offer a transmission range of up to 100 metres. With this professional wireless system, presenters and performers can enjoy both full freedom of movement and crystal-clear sound at any event.

Intuitive and straightforward

The four-channel Mipro ACT-848 5UA receiver is incredibly easy to use – in fact, it only has five buttons, with the large black rotary dial covering most of the functions. As such, setting up and managing the receiver is intuitive and straightforward. Mipro's SmartEQ can adjust the audio signal's frequency response automatically, while ten user presets simulate different microphone capsules. In total, transmission is possible on 224 preset channels in seven groups. The system's dynamic range is 115 dBA, with a transmission latency of less than 2.7ms; this is primarily the result of the high-quality A/D converter, which also effectively eliminates high-level, high-frequency saturation and distortion. Diversity capability not only prevents dropouts but also increases the unit's reception range, ensuring top-class signal quality for every transmission.

Make every mic a wireless mic

The Mipro ACT-800 TA-80 5UA transmitter has a lockable XLR connector for connecting any external mic, be they dynamic or condenser microphones: For the latter, 12V or 48V phantom power can be activated via the MODE button. This button also allows users to adjust settings such as a limiter, a low-cut filter, channel encryption, as well as phase and sensitivity. Other parameters can be changed using the SET button. On the underside is the MUTE button, which mutes the signal. Depending on phantom power usage, the TA-80 can run for up to 12 hours on a single charge from the supplied charging cradle. The microphone holder also included allows the TA-80 itself to be attached a standard microphone stand, for even more flexible sound setups.

Reliable over distance

This set brings together just two of the elements of an entire wireless ecosystem designed for professionals who require high-quality, reliable signal transmission for their events. As signals are transmitted fully digitally and without distortion, transmission distance does not lead to signal degradation. A stable signal-to-noise ratio is maintained, even over extended ranges. The Auto Channel Targeting function – which is what ACT stands for here – enables automatic frequency synchronisation, eliminating the need for manual tuning and allowing the system to be ready in seconds. The receiver retains the frequency setting until the ACT function is used again, even after being powered off. All of the devices' parameters are clearly visible on their colour screens, which are easily readable from any viewing angle.

About Mipro

Established in 1995 in Chiayi, Taiwan, by wireless and audio engineer K.C. Chang, Mipro has become a leader in high-quality wireless audio systems. Now run by his son Solomon, the company specialises in wireless microphone systems, portable sound systems, in-ear monitoring solutions, tour guide systems, and camera receivers. In 2014, Mipro Germany GmbH was founded in Hardthausen, near Heilbronn, to enhance customer service and ensure smooth delivery across Germany. Mipro adheres to the latest manufacturing standards and holds top-tier classifications from the Electronics Association. In Germany, the company is TÜV-certified under DIN ISO-9001:2000, a testament to its commitment to quality.

Flexibility and connectivity

The rear panel of the Mipro ACT-848 5UA receiver is equipped with a balanced output for each of its four channels, as well as a pair of digital AES/EBU outputs capable of handling all four channels. This allows sound engineers to connect both analogue and digital mixers for further signal processing. If the receiver is to be synchronised with a central clock signal or with other devices, there are wordclock inputs and outputs for this very purpose. To the right are a remote input and output (RJ-11) for control via a computer using an external USB interface. Multiple 800 Series receivers can be daisy-chained together; the proprietary software is capable of monitoring up to 64 channels on an external device. The two antenna sockets also provide the necessary output should extra antenna amplifiers be necessary.
