Maximum features at a mini price

The Millenium MX420 Studio Set is a fully equipped drum kit with features you wouldn’t normally expect at this price point. The 20" bass drum, 10", 12" and 14" toms, and 14" x 5.5" wooden snare drum all feature a multi-ply construction that combines birch and poplar wood and form the backbone of the kit. The cymbal set consists of a 14" hi-hat, 16" crash, and 20" ride. To complete the picture, all of the necessary hardware is provided, including a drum stool. And since looks are just as important as features, the MX420 is available in two eye-catching finishes.

Selected woods and professional features

The developers certainly paid a great deal of attention to detail when designing the MX420. The bass drum’s wooden hoops with colour-matching inlays, the tom fixtures equipped with ball joints and, finally, the highly reliable and functional hardware, all give the impression of a much more expensive drum set. The drum memory locks located in key positions, the neatly screwed-on badges, and the Blue Lining finish – reminiscent of classic vintage drum sets – certainly add to that impression. Last but not least, the fact that the nine-ply shells also include multiple layers of birch as well as poplar is another real surprise in this price range.

The MX420 is a real chameleon

If you are just starting out on the drums and are looking for a complete yet inexpensive drum kit, the Millenium MX420 is the perfect choice. The most popular drum and cymbal sizes have been selected and cater for many different styles. The 20" bass drum is full-sounding enough for Rock, but also does an excellent job with Jazz if tuned a little higher. The three toms, with sizes of 10", 12", and 14" respectively, are equally versatile. The 14" x 5.5" snare drum is a real all-rounder and is equipped with a robust strainer mechanism and a 20-wire snare. The components are all adjustable and can be easily adapted to suit players of different heights.

About Millenium

Millenium is one of Thomann’s in-house brands and has been an integral part of the store’s range since 1995. More than 800 products – from drums and percussion through to accessories such as microphone stands, racks, and recording workstations – bear the Millenium label. These products are made by renowned companies who also manufacture products for other well-known brands. Since they are imported directly from the factory without any further distributors or sales companies, they can be sold at particularly attractive prices. Incidentally, one in every four Thomann customers has already purchased at least one Millenium product.

Cool looks for rehearsal room and stage

The Millenium MX420 Studio Set comes with everything you need to start drumming, at a price that many drummers would spend on a snare drum alone. This kit will suit both children and adults and is an ideal instrument for practising at home and for the rehearsal room. Moreover, the MX420 is fully stage-ready thanks to its double-braced stands and sturdy mounts, which can be returned to their original position in seconds using the memory locks during set-up. And its eye-catching finish also means that the MX420 will look nothing short of awesome under the spotlight.

Solid Kit for the Price
alt2 13.03.2020
Overall I was impressed with the MX420. The sounds out of the drums are pretty good, considering the price. A standout for me is the quality of the hardware at this price. Often the downside of any budget is weak or unstable hardware, but this stuff is pretty solid. The cymbals are pretty rubbish, but I wasn't expecting much. Actually, the high hat is useable, but the crash and ride have excessive ring and volume.

I prefer a setup with a single high tom on a stand, rather than mounted through the bass drum. I was happy to find that the tom mounts have the same diameter as the cymbal stands, so I was able to hang the tom via the crash stand.

Pros:
-Drum sound
-Hardware
-Finish

Cons:
-Cymbals
-Seat isn't amazing

A very good entry level drumkit
mojsterr 22.03.2023
I've never had drums before but these were absolutely great for this price.

I heard some people mentioning cymbals not beeing very good, but from what I've seen this is every entry level drumkit. And I think a beginner won't really notice a difference.

All in all, a great drumkit for a beginner.

Guter Gesamtzustand zum Preis
mapex80 03.10.2019
