Millenium HH-901 Pro Series

So, I'm a big fan of second hand equipment - let some other poor so and so take a depreciation hit, I say BUT I'm rapidly coming round to replacing my entire hardware setup with Millenium, this stuff is so good.

What do you want in a hi-hat stand? It's needs to be solid, right? Check. Solid as a rock. It needs to not be TOO heavy. Check, it weighs about as much as I'd want - my Mapex stand is lighter but feels more flimsy, so go figure! You want adjustability? No problem - I've never had any trouble getting this into a position where I feel comfortable with it.

Overall I can't recommend this enough - typical Thomann quality and value!

I bought two of these in September 2020, one for my practice kit, one for a kit I drum tech on. Both have hi hats made from two 16" crashes, so, quite a weight, which they handle comfortably, no issues getting fast enough return to open position. They don't move (unlike a Pearl stand I have on another kit). Chrome work is very good. All adjustment stuff is nice to use.

The only thing I would prefer is a clutch that does not have the screw bearing directly on the pull rod, because both pull rods are showing the usual wear from that. I would prefer the type that tightens without the screw bearing on the rod, like the Gibraltar Quick Clutch. Frankly, all clutches should be made that way. btw the Gibraltar is also brilliant for quick changes / setup, shame it's £25.

Sadly I had to sell it the other week (along with the equally amazing Millenium SS-902 series Snare stand!) as I needed to include a hardware pack with the kit I was selling. Very sad to see them both go, but happily have bought another SS-902 stand last week. While I really like the HH-905 stand I bought to replace this HH-902 with, I really wish I just bought another of these one's, as it is more conveniant in setting up and storing in my hardware case (less bulky than the 905, and also you have to undo a screw every time you set-up the base plate of the 905, due to it being a 2-leg model, still an awesome stand, but wish it was little easier to set-up).
