Old version was good, new version is terrible
Ron S 01.06.2023
There are thousands of positive review on the page for this stand, but they are not for the product you're getting if you order today.
The old version of the GS-2001 E was a fantastic stand in every way. The current version is terrible to the point that I simply don't trust it enough to put a guitar in it. The overall stability is terrible, and the foam feels ridiculously cheap.
But worst of all is the 'locking' mechanism. The old version had a firm lock that made the entire stand sturdy and stable. The new version has something that is made to resemble a lock, but does not, in fact, lock at all. This means that any time you bump the stand, there is a risk of it folding in and dropping your guitar. I'd go so far as saying that offering the new version without putting it on a new product page with 0 reviews is misleading customers. The new version is simply not the same product.

Broke after a short time
Guitarist678888 07.11.2024
The welding of the arms onto the stand it poor and they broke shortly. I only put an electric guitar on it. I bought a better one a bit more expensive and it's stronger

Look elsewhere
Yo Jimbo 03.09.2025
As others have said - this stand has been "enshittified" in recent years and is now practically useless. The new “locking” mechanism (and I use that term extremely loosely as it now essentially DOES NOT lock) is woefully inadequate for purpose, considering this is supposed to support one of your prized guitars worth hundreds, if not thousands, of your hard-earned bucks.

I had to deliberately mutilitate the "locking" mechanism to get it to stand upright without collapsing on itself. Whoever approved this design needs to be thoroughly examined by a medical professional.

Millenium should be ashamed for taking a perfectly good product and ruining it. And Thomann should consider making it more obvious that this product is no longer what it once was.

They used to be great
Carl F 07.09.2024
I've been buying these since the early 2000's. They've always been great. But now, since 2024, they've changed the mechanism keeping them in place. Now they fold together if you breathe too hard in their general direction. A shame, they've always been my go to, but I won't buy them again, unless they fix the mechanism. Be aware that the locking mechanism shown on the pictures is not the one that's shipped to you - which was honestly surprising - Thomann is normally very reliable.

Disappointing construction
MikeBR 31.01.2018
It is fine for holding a solid body guitar. Not much use of hollow body. The plastic pad the guitar rests on broke almost immediately (likely was cracked in shipping, because I can't believe it would break that easily otherwise). Now tapped together. There are other Millennium stands that are cheaper and more robust.

Maybe ok for very light guitars
Evadbur 31.03.2024
Not great. The arms bend under the weight of the guitars until the strap button rests on the floor. They can be bent upwards again but this eventually leads to the arm separating from the stand. I bought two - I won't be buying any more.

Not the safest option
Nickname16 08.07.2024
When used with bass guitars, the body of the instrument was very close to the floor. In one case, the strap button did touch the floor. The arms are too tight and touch the knobs on the instrument. The back support ends up being positioned in a suboptimal way, with the instrument barely resting on it. If you have the budget, choose something else

Will damage your guitar
Schuriken 13.01.2014
This is another horrible product that will cause damage to the back of your guitar.

The plastic grid melts into your guitar finish, satin or gloss finish will get damaged and leave heavy traces of grid lines on the finish.

Terrible product and should be taken out of your web page.

Not suitable for any kind of electric guitar.

Cheap and not very good
johnoros 25.10.2017
Guitar stands too upright and can be easily knocked over in this stand. There should be better padding for the guitar to rest on. Its a bit hard and could end up damaging your guitar.
