Absolutely amazing
These tubes are just unbelievable. I used it to replace the preamp tube on my Marshall valvestate 8240 stereo. I replaced the original one with a JJ tesla tube a while ago and it was good, I liked it, but it is nothing compared to these. The sound is thick, warm with massive low end. It sounds very solid, consistent. I don't really know how to describe it. Well I love Metallica and metal music though I don't always play that kind of music. I think this is the closest to THAT sound I have ever heard my amp when you turn on the distortion. When you turn it up is when you can hear the massive difference there is no loss of tone all harmonics are there...
I have owned this amp for more than ten years and It never sounded like this. I was a bit sceptical about the price at first because I thought they were all the same and it was just all about electronics. I also read some reviews saying that Mesa tubes are just JJ tesla tubes with a printed Mesa Logo... well all I can say is that I recommend these tubes 100%

amazing tube
I installed it to my Bugera V5 and it transform my amp to a very expressive amp. I can create a lot of different tones just by using only my volume knob of my guitar . Also my guitar became more " spiky "

Quality has its price
Ok. The quality (and the audio response) of a preamp tube is subjective and heavily depends by the amp and by the point of the circuit where it is installed.
That said, this tube works best in the first stages of a preamp, where hi gain and low noise are requested.
Pro: in the distortion area the sound is creamy and easily compressed. A clean setting gives you a controlled and dynamic sound. Very low microphonics! I'd better see it into guitar amps of "american" origin.
Cons: the price is not low, but the cost/performance ratio is very high.

The best for my Triple Rec.
Got this for my triple rec and boy, did it bring it back to life!
Worth every penny.
Now I need the rest of the 9 tubes to complete a whole set revamp (wallet is not looking forward to that)!😂

COMPLETE UPGRADE Fender Superchamp
This tube turned my Fender Superchamp X2 into a dynamic REVERB!
Fantastic sound range all over!
Gues what, i do have a Mesa Stiletto Ace, but soundwise the SC beats it.
Great buy for a great price. Go For It!

One of the best modern v1/v2 tubes out there
I've got a lot of rack preamps and I like experimenting with tubes so I've been meaning to give those tubes a try for a long time.
When I finally got my hands on some, I was amazed by how good they sounded - really powerful, quiet and with the best balance between gain, headroom, clarity and articulation I've heard from a modern day tube.
If you want to modernize your amp or preamp a bit with that heavy, tight metal sound and feel definitely give this tube a try - It is a bit pricey but I guarantee you won't regret it one bit!

Mesa Boogie Tube SPAX 12AX7
Used this as the first valve position in my second hand mesa boogie mark v.The previous owner had put a JJ in there and i was curious to see if one of these made a differerence. The difference is night and day.Sounds a lot smoother than before. Not that it wasnt sounding good before.Boogie tubes are well worth the money.

Highest quality preamp tubes!
Preamp tubes specially designed to prevent microphonic problems. I just installed them in my Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier and they are very quiet indeed. I'm very satisfied.
As far as I know, these are the only 12AX7 preamp tubes available on the market with a magnetic sheet wrapped around them, but I could be mistaken. It is there to prevent, as much as possible, microphonic squeals and other nasty noises.
These preamp tubes are a little more expensive than the regular 12AX7s but, of course, one pays a little extra for a better product.
So, overall, great quality preamp tubes and the people at Thömann are super fast with the shipping and take great care in packaging the items!

Nice and quiet
There's not much to say really. It is quiet, shielding works great, plenty of headroom. Works great in V1 position.
