Plays amazing out of the box!
I'm a drummer, I'm kind of a beginner on bass.
My Squier Affinity has a tendency for neck bending and the edge of the fretboard was leaving marks on my hand, I felt like I should get something nice to replace it.
This P5R not only is my favorite looking bass ever, it's very high quality, you can immediately tell its very well built and sturdy.
The rounded fretboard edges are a game changer for my hand, solved finger marks AND
the Squier has some neck dive and it was causing me back pain. I thought it was normal, I'm holding a heavy bass.
Well... a week after getting this no more back pain, it's just gone. People say the P5R has neck dive, I don't feel it at all.
I love the sound of it, often play it unplugged, sounds good. I would gess the pickups are not top of the line, but neither is the price.
Negative points:
The knobs are a bit flimsy, the tone knob rolls very easily while the pickup has more tension.
Removing the input jack can require some hard pulling.
Over all these are minor things that can easily be replaced
Famous brand quality for half the price!
It's a 5 star product, literally considering getting a second one or maybe a Sire jazz bass, to have as a back up.
