Line6 HX Stomp XL

Since I feel the drives and the reverb is a bit under par, I use this together with an Eventide H9, a Jackson audio Golden boy and a Fjord Fuzz Odin. The two drives is in each of the two effect loops of the HX stomp XL. Very flexible and everything controlled via midi from the HX Stomp XL. Easy to program on the pedal itself, compared to other midi controllers where You have to use computer software to change commands.

Amazing amp modelling, effects and flexibility for both studio and gig usage. After loooonnnng research I chose HX Stomp XL and I'm in love with it.
Pros: Best sound in the market with full features for professional studio recording and lots of flexibility with the snapshots and footswitchs for all kind of gigs you imagine.
Cons: The Screen is a bit small to look at in the middle of a gig, but perfect for studio. It is not so user friendly to navigate in the beggining ,I took some time to learn, but after you get it you can fly deep in the sound!

I really wanted to buy a Helix LT, but I felt it was too big and heavy to take around, I do however find that the processing power is a bit limited, but was quite surprised that the tiny screen proved quite sufficient. I really enjoy working with this, and love the sound it produces, it is a great improvement in every way to my previous effects pedal (Zoom G3Xn) and I’m constantly discovering new ways to use it.

This pedal has been revolutionary. I use this as my amplifier and full board in conjunction with in ear monitoring in a wedding band. The tonality is second to none and it honestly feels like a good amp. I could not be happier.

The FX loops and amazing routing options are just a bonus for those days at home when you feel like experimenting.

Wether you want this for its amp sims, mods and delays or just as an addition to your standard setup, you will not be disappointed.

As with all helix products(and feature packed multi-effects), there is a learning curve. But put in the time and you'll have no regrets.

Helix still gives updates up to this day and recent updates really made it a totally worth product TODAY even if the engine is old.

The stomp XL gives the stomp the much needed additional foowtswitches. It is still smaller than a Helix LT by far.

Construction is top notch!

I'd buy helix over again if lost or stolen.

I’ve been using the HX Stomp XL for a year now, and every time I play through it I congratulate my seld for this investment.
I’m a bass player and I use effects a lot. There hasn’t been a single sound I couldn’t replicate or create with this unit.
Synth sounds? Heavy? Distorted? Clean? Specific amps? You name it — it delivers.

There is a small learning curve when it comes to building your own presets and tweaking everything, but the Helix ecosystem is pretty intuitive once you get used to it.

Definitely recommended.

A very steep learning curve if you are new to it - great fb groups though and chat gpt will help a lot. Built like a tank and options for days.. line 6 updates and customer care is incredible. Can take time to dial in your tone but once you get there it’s mint. One real downside is a terrible in built tuner.
