The base is pretty heavy, but it also means that the mike stand is pretty stable so that's not that bad.
The height of the stand is easy to adjust and it stays in place once its done, it doesn't slide.
Overall : great purchase (especially for the price)

A handsome mic stand of good enough quality considering the price. One thing to keep in mind is that it kind of gets in the way if you're singing while playing guitar/banjo/bass or any instrument that you wear like a typical electric guitar. The neck of your instrument will probably come into contact with the pole on this stand.
