A steady competitor for sure.
I bought this compressor to use with the Klark Teknik KT2A, as I need 2 outboard comps to track vocals in series. I've had both units for a short bit of time, but for what it's worth, I think they're truly fantastic!
Pros: Right of the bat, SOLID and very sturdy construction. The knobs all feel pretty damn good, the VU meter is great and the whole thing just feels like it could survive quite a beating.
I've had the opportunity to try a UA1176 before, and while the Klark Teknik doesn't yield identical results, it delivers way more than you'd expect from a 200€ 1176 clone. I would love to see this thing compared to the Warm/Stam/Heritage units!
Compared to most 1176s I've tried, the KT76 does feel a BIT more clean than what you'd expect from a character compressor, but there are some subtle qualities it brings out from sound, especially if paired with a solid mic and preamp.
Cons: It is worth mentioning that while the unit performs very well, it can get a bit noisy. Cranked hard enough, there is a audible hiss coming trough and while 99% of the time, I won't be cranking the unit that hard, it's still there and can be bit of a pain.
Another thing I'd like to mention is that for those who don't know what a fixed threshold compressor is, this might be a bit of a pain to learn, since I couldn't really find anything in the manual to indicate that.
Overall, I'm very happy with my KT76, and would recommend it to absolutely anyone. It's great value for money and will give you fantastic results if you can't afford a UA.

Cheap, but not cheap sound
Just got this lovely compressor, it's well made and doesn't have the problems of excessive noise etc that others have described. I've used it on my music and it's compression behaviour is very quick and the right amount of compression doesn't muffle the sound, although it doesn't bring out certain colourings I might like, in all botton mode the sound is crazy and a little bright. Especially on Bass you get that magical square wave magic.
Very good, I like it.

No idea if these sound like the OG 1176, what I can say is I really like the comprssion action and they are very transparent. I enjoy that its transparent as I dont want it to change the tone of my amps.
I have 3 in my rack. I'm waiting for the day when I turn one on and nothing happens but I bought my first one back in 2019, so far so good. Zero issues. I am very pleasently suprised by the quality.
If they die, they are so cheap now I would replace in a heartbeat.

Its a BEAST
Use : Mainly using it for recording & Mixing Vocals
Clarity : I simply love the life in it, compare to Plugins.
Pros : Everything.
Cons : Bypass option.
I have worked in few studios with top gears, this gear definitely in par with top gears. for this price range the build quality is top notch, doesn't feel cheap. have fun

Incredible Value for Money
For the money, this is a great piece of gear. I've got 3 of these now that are used regularly in a studio for drums, vocals, and more. The controls also function like the original (backwards attack and release), so it's easy to use if you're used to the original piece.

It's really easy to get good tones from the KT76. It sounds great and adds a bit of analog feel to your tracks. I use it on almost everything and the result I get is fantastic. It could be a bit noisy if you push the line amp really hard but this doesn't bother me at all.
It is definitely better than any 1176 plugin I have ever tried.

An excellent and affordable 1176 clone that beats out any plugin
I'm utterly amazed at the quality you get for the price and if I did not know about this compressor, I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone told me that it costs double or more the price it sells for.
The compression is very, very close to the real thing, a bit on the cleaner side and doesn't distort as easily but it's incredibly useful for tracking.
The sound remains punchy and present throughout the frequency spectrum no matter how hard you push it.
I initially intended to use it as a tracking compressor only, but I'm definitely finding it very useful while mixing.
All of the knobs have a surprisingly sturdy feel to them.
Again, the quality build is insane for the price.
Highly recommend it!

FET compression like it should
Great FET compressor sounding very similar to the other black 1176 style compressors I have used! I made a video showcasing its sounds which you can watch through my YouTube channel called Sonic Circuitry.

My second one.
Amazing for the price. Beat all the software emulations. This is on my vocal chain recording channel and makes mixing so much easier down the line.
