Useful product but expensive

Functionally, this is great. As a product however it's of relatively low quality, especially for the price. Feels sturdy but has sharp corners and the assembly reminds me of DIY products. It also comes with a power supply of the worst kind: a wall-wart.

Mergers are extremely useful in a MIDI studio so I've purchased a few of these, but every time I put them in my cart I feel bad -- they're too expensive for what they are.

Does the job, but why center positive?

It does what it's supposed to, and to be honest, for this price tag, it's the least I expected. No complaints whatsoever on its functionality.
However...
It works on 9V DC, but center POSITIVE! That's the opposite of the usual guitar pedals or pretty much everything. FFS, why?
