Großartiges Jazz-Mundstück

Das DV NY 7 ist ein hervorragend klingendes Jazz-Mundstück, eher dunkel im Ton aber nicht muffig. Die Ansprache ist leicht und äußerst präzise, die Verarbeitung makellos.

Sowohl Klang als auch Ansprache gefallen mir persönlich deutlich besser als beim Klassiker Link; bei letzterem habe ich immer das Gefühl, als stecke eine Socke im Schalltrichter. Aber das ist natürlich absolut Geschmacksache.

Ich verwende das Mundstück in einer Big Band und einem Orchester; für den Einsatz in einer Rock-Band finde ich es allerdings eher weniger geeignet, da greife ich doch lieber auf ein Berg Larsen zurück.

Habe für mein Yanagisawa 901 Tenor ein Mundstück gesucht, dass mehr Projektion und einen kompakteren Sound hat. Habe all die Jahre immer das Standardmundstück "Yanagisawa Tenor Sax Mouthpiece 5 Ebonite" gespielt. Nach dem Ausprobieren verschiedener offenerer Mundstücken aus Kunststoff war ich sofort überrascht über den vollen und sonoren Sound des Jody Jazz.
Über das gesamte Register ist der Klang sehr ausgewogen. In der tiefen Lage ab c1 und tiefer braucht man etwas mehr Druck damit die Töne ansprechen. Nach jetzt ein paar Wochen Übung kommen diese aber auch sicher. In der 3. Oktave klingen die Töne auch satt.
Die Verarbeitung des MP ist super und insgesamt sehr hochwertig. Die Blattschraube fixiert das Blatt sicher und unterstützt den insgesamt eher dunklen Klang. Die Kappe ist aus Kunststoff und und bietet einen guten Schutz für das Mundstück.
Insgesamt ein tolles Mundstück!

Nachdem ich mit meinem Jody Jazz DV NY für das Alt-Saxophon so glücklich bin, wollte ich natürlich dieses auch für das Tenor Saxophon probieren. Meine Meinung dazu: Es ist der Ferrari unter den Mundstücken!
Es spricht sehr schnell und leicht an, spielt sich in allen Lagen klar und bringt im tiefen Bereich einen herrlich sanften, rauchigen Sound. Ich spiele es auf meinem Selmer Mark VI und dem Cannonball Tenor und bin bei beiden Instrumenten vom Sound begeistert.
Das Mundstück kommt in einer netten Holzbox, darin ein Samtsäckchen zur Aufbewahrung und eine Kappe als Schutz.
