Der Wischer lässt sich durch die gesamte Oboe ziehen ohne dass man sie auseinander bauen muss. Die Rückholschnur ist lang genug um dem Feststecken im Instrument vorzubeugen. Das macht den Wischer sehr praktisch wenn man die Oboe schnell trocknen will, zum Beispiel währen einer Probe.
Die Seide ist sehr dünn, daher ist der Wischer sehr flexibel. Die Saugfähigkeit ist meiner Meinung nach ausreichend, allerdings ist der Wischer schon nach einmaligem Gebrauch ziemlich nass. Wenn man in kurzer Zeit mehrfach trockenen möchte, kann es daher nötig sein, einen anderen Wischer zu verwenden.
