Harley Benton SC-Custom III Gold Top

I've had some beautiful guitars over the years so I have and still own many of them, but this is something else when it comes to value for money so it is. I'm almost inclined to catch myself on whenever I mention this instrument as value for money, as it stands on its own two feet as just a great guitar. The Grover tuners and stainless steel frets make a world of difference, so they do, giving the guitar the feel of a premium instrument. The pickups are good, certainly a step up from the roswells in my previous purchase. The only element I'm not overly convinced by is the painted neck.

I can't speak highly enough of this guitar so I can't. It is going to be my everyday guitar for the foreseeable future, so it is. Cheerio now.

I can not even begin to express how good this guitar is! I'm in canada, so it was a little more pricey for me, but compared to any Epiphone of this quality is still $400-$500 cheaper. Holy smokes! Right out of the box, finish is flawless! relief and and action is spot on. Even the intonation was perfect! All the electronics work perfect. Coil split is great. Jack is nice and snug. Grover tuners, tusq nut and STAINLESS STEEL frets! This blows any epiphone les paul out of the water. The Tesla pickups are great, nice and punchy/clear at the bridge, Nice articulate gain, middle position is actually useful for a change and in the middle position you can control the volume of each pickup to blend. Neck pickup is pure blues, nice and warm but not muddy at all. Great for metal, punk, rock and blues for sure. My only minor complaint is SLIGHT sharp frets, and when I say slight, I mean I'm not even going to bother filing them, not necessary at all. Body contours are great. Neck is a nice modern shape. Fretboard looks and feels great, and the frets aren't scratchy! People need to snag these up and thank you to the company for offering great affordable guitars. Not my first harley benton, but for sure the best thus far! And the cherry on top, the finish is actually a gold top finish, not the bronze type look that my SC 450 p90 has (which is also a fantastic guitar btw) this SC custom is a gibson style gold color. Not a single flaw. Great job guys and thank you!

I ve got to admit that the guitar came with a great setup (auction).
Also, the paint had no flaws at all. Frets were so smooth and nothing needs to be changed. The Tesla pickups are good for rock, heavy metal (Iron Maiden in my case) and some thrash (like Megadeth).
But, i ordered the guitar and they changed the tuners from Grovers to HB Grover style tuners, which at first was unexpected, but they do great work (great tuning stability). Also the color was different (more bronze, But beautiful) from the one they have on their video.
At last the guitar is really worth, even with these minor changes.

This HB SC Custom 111 Guitar is just incredible..It arrived in perfect flawless condition..I could find not even the slightest Blemish in the Gold High Gloss finish.The frets were well seated no rough ends The Grover style Tuners enable the Guitar to stay in Tune for a lot of playing...The Tone and quality of Sound from the Tesla Humbuckers is incredible and I've Guitars with far more expensive pickups...The only niggle is the 3 position switch which didn't perform as it should but I replaced it so all is Good...I simply cannot overstate the feeling I get when I play this Beautiful instrument .if I close my Eyes I'm hearing and feeling a Guitar that is many Hundreds of Pounds more than what this wonderful exciting Fantastic Guitar cost me from Thomann..HOW DO these Guys sell this Guitar SO CHEAP? It's just blown me away on all its Virtues...WOW
