Impressive -- feels great, looks amazing and sounds good
I bought this to replace a similar guitar, by another manufacturer that I had many years ago, which had high-end hardware, SD pickups and a gorgeous finish. I am very happy with this purchase!
The finish on this looks and feels great, and I really like the binding. There is one small blemish on the side of the body, which in isn't a huge deal. But, unfortunately it's right on the "waist" area, directly in my line of sight while playing. It is so small though, that I really have to look for it to notice. It's likely just a partial fingerprint or smudge in the finish, from while it was curing.
The fretboard is impressive! Yes, it needed some oil, but I'd do that anyway. The action is impressively low, without a hint of a buzz. I am not so much as touching the neck or saddles. I thought I would want to replace the tuners, but I really like them and won't replace them. They look, work and feel good and the guitar stays in tune very well.
The resonance is impressive. The tone, unplugged and plugged in, are beautiful. One of the pots feels a bit scratchy, but functions properly. That was true on my $1200 guitar, too. I don't love gold hardware, and would prefer chrome (or all black), but, this hardware is high quality and looks very good.
It's this guitar that had led to me buying four more from Thomann, and my students have purchased some as well. I'm about to get two more, but shhh, that's between you and me.

Incredible and beautiful guitar for the price!
I'm blown away by the quality for the price. I'd have no issue playing a gig with this guitar as it came. With some Seymour Duncan's it would be on par with my Les Pauls and PRS's for less than a 1/4 of the price!

Incredible value - a real gem of a guitar!
I bought a SC-550 II BCF after thorough Internet-research with the full intention of sending it back if I wasn’t completely satisfied.
In the two weeks since I arrived it has far exceeded my expectations. The Black Cherry look is absolutely gorgeous. The maple top has just the right amount of structure and since the back is also highly translucent in this color you can really appreciate the beautiful wood used in the neck and body.
The frets are very even and an absolutely joy to play with their very smooth edges. Coming from a Strat-background I can’t comment on how the humbuckers compare to others, but to me they produce the exact sound I was after.
To my surprise it was also set up very well on delivery. I had planned on using it drop-tuned, but since everything, even the intonation, was spot on when unpacking I have decided to enjoy it in standard tuning for a while longer.
As a whole the guitar Is absolutely beautifully built and it sounds great. The only tiny niggle I have is with the color of the nut - it’s too white, a slightly more cream-colored one would have looked far better.
Needless to say I'm very satisfied with the guitar and can wholeheartedly recommend it!

Just wowed!! (in a good way)
I had to return a Gretsch g220 from another store due to frets coming off the fretboard. And this HB SC550 II BCF almost the same price level actually little less than that - I am just wowed by the quality and sound of this instrument that I have been playing for a week now. Looks so beautiful! Just how Thomann do this? :)

Wow!
Just buy one, they're great. Fit and finish is perfect, much better than guitars costing ten times as much....... Paint job and top are excellent, pots quiet and smooth in operation. Pickups are a touch dark, well matched in output but do lack a touch of clarity clean. With a bit of dirt the pickups compress very nicely and sound great. Up the dirt more and the pickups really find their home - sweet and creamy, excellent. Frets are absolutely superb, smooth and level and finished to a very high standard, second to none and better than any of my USA guitars. Neck is slim and comfortable. Tuners seem OK, not superb but functional. Nut not bad but needed a little extra work to make it perfect. Hard to put this one down.

I bought this guitar on the strength of opinion on the web. I must say that Ihoped it wasn,t all hype . Having taken delivery all concerns went away, PLAYED GOOD FROM THE BOX ,a few minor adjustments to my taste and I now find it as pleasing to play as my branded guitar,s at a much more favorable price .The choice of black cherry flame is a delight to look at,and if all you did was hang it on a wall it would justify the purchase. In conclusion a great guitar for so small a price would be the way to go .DEFINITELY NOT MY LAST Harley benton

The best single cut guitar at a afforable price!
Back in my days, I could never see myself playing an LP shape guitar and this time I wanted to give it a go. My mind was changed when I took this guitar right out of the box and played it for 2 days on a 75-watt Line6 Spider III.
Pros: I was stunned by how good the setup was right out of the box and the only thing I needed to do to the guitar was to tune it! The Tesla Pickups were really new brand for me and found myself liking them. I played rock, punk, and metal with them, and sounded great. This guitar's steel frets are nice and have no scratchy feel when bending or vibrating the notes. The weight of the guitar is much lighter than a Les Pual for me which is a big plus. No fret sprouts found.
Cons: I wish the guitar had the option to coil split (personal preference)
In conclusion, you are getting a solid guitar for this awesome price, period. In addition, I also got the Thomann Elite Case SC Snake for this model and it fits just fine.
Harley Benton, I am your biggest fan now. <3
