Like all lower priced attenuators it does still a little tone. But you can’t beat it for the price.

It works quite well with low attenuation but if you want to cut your signal very much, it does not sound nice, so I recommend it rather for low wattage amps like 30W or so. The quality is excellent and it does not look like a cheap thing. Altogether, I think it is allright, assessing its price.
