Perfect home studio speaker for Hifi and production
Nice industrial build, only non perfection are the jointing gap between the al enclosure have very tiny amount of unevenness on gap distance to be "Japanese" type of detail attention
Dip switches adapted to my very tiny room (4 m2) producing near perfect response and a very clear, detailed sound. If anything to be improved I would say the sensitivity, it's too sensitive even set to -6dB, where beside my preamp near lowest setting I need to control volume digitally through my DAC

I love my Gennies
My first set of Gennies and very impressed how they sound. They might be a tad flattering yet are analytical enough to perfect the mix but allowing me enjoy the sound in the process.

Versatile true monitor from a well established manufacturer – what more to ask for?
Generally speaking, one can hardly go wrong with these speakers. You should bear in mind, though, that they are a compromise given their size, but this is exactly what makes them so versatile. If I had the financial means and enough space on my desktop, I would probably go for a pair of their bigger siblings, simply because more bass is always welcome. But what is there in terms of low end is informative enough and definitely does not disappoint. Of course, personal preferences and acoustical characteristics play a huge role here, but I would like to emphasise that we should not have huge expectations of thunderous bass from a 5-inch driver. And if, by any chance, you find these speakers booming (as one reviewer pointed out), then you can simply use the tone control settings on the back to tame the bass.
I am still in a process of evaluating mine. So far I am quite happy with my choice. My setup consists of a pair sitting on a desk in a small, bedroom-like environment. Although their proximity to the back wall suggests using the tone controls settings and attenuate the bass, I ended up without making any adjustments at all, at least until I take care of some reverberations in the room and make some measurements in order to know what exactly I am dealing with acoustically speaking.
I usually avoid describing sound as this is highly subjective, but I would say that the speakers are very revealing. I happen to have a few DACs at the moment of writing this review and was able to play a bit with all of them. What strike me is how easily I could say the difference in the sound characteristics between them.
In terms of features, I am slightly disappointed that they don’t have an RCA input and this is probably the only negative thing I can say about them. The autostart (ISS) function is working smoothly and the auto power off takes a bit more than what I would normally expect – around 45 minutes or so, not a biggie.
Finally, I would like to say that I can only recommend Genelec 8030. They might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you happen to be on the fence about them, I can confidently suggest to give them a try.

Solid Quality and Top-Notch Sound
This speaker has been on the market for a long time, but still great as confirmed by Klippel measurements, its overall quality is exceptionally high. In a perfectly controlled, well-treated room, a strong competitor-Neumann 120II- might deliver a more balanced and detailed sound. However, this speaker performs well in various room environments, making it suitable for both monitoring and general music listening. Unlike the 8330A, it does not support GLM, but for someone like me who uses a room correction program such as Dirac, this is the perfect choice. I am very satisfied with this Generec 8030C

Great sound at a great price
There’s a reason Genelec is one of many studios cornerstone. It gives accurate, clean sound without hassle. I use them mainly for multichannel sound installations, and to be able to get familiar sounds every time is valuable. Saved me so much time

Can't go wrong
These are amazing and accurate. Best used with a sub though. I used swissonic sub 10 for years crossed at 80hz and worked great.

A joy to work with
Best solution for a small studio set up, don?t let the size fool you, they do sound bigger than they are. I make bass heavy music and the response from these are very focused and transients are clear without being fatigued.
Can?t live without them now.

Great for desk setup
I got these to have on a desk (using K&M 23310 stands to lift them 20 cm) with a laptop in the middle and the speakers on each side. They perform really well in this setup, even though the room is untreated. Position them in the right triangle and the stereo image is great. They can play super loud. Bass is there, even though the woofers are just 5".
