Gator need to test their products in the real world
Honest take 10.08.2024
I had hoped more for this product. I bought it because I don't always have access to a car and thought the case might be useful for public transport (i.e. busses and trains).

**The Good**

1. Case itself is robust: the plywood feels solid and the contents are protected.

2. The wheels can handle roughish terrain: I carted this over old tarmac etc. with no problems.

3. Side pouch is very useful and can store a lot.

**The Bad**

1. The handle was poorly assembled: after just two trips, I noticed the screws that attached the handle unit had popped out. I was careful to screw them back in but later noticed a screw missing. Did this happen when I was using it or was it shipped like that? I may never know.

2. Once extended, I found the handle to be short. I stand at 1.83 meters and felt like I needed to stoop down to ensure the grip stayed in my hand. I experienced the case repeatedly banging off my heel as I walked, something I could still feel the next day. On more than one occasion, this caused the handle to slip from my hands and my amp came crashing to the ground – albeit in a fairly snug sarcophagus.

3. Gator don't appear to have tested this themselves: because if they had, they would learn WHY people complain about the wheels: trying to negotiate train doors, general doors etc. is painful and often required help.

Conclusion: it's well priced for what it promises but the QA (quality testing) is poor and considerations for human factors / ergonomics are non existent.

Perhaps if your only journey is to a car or a van from your house or venue, this case will work fine. For solo adventures on public transport, I would give this one a miss.
