Good fun and maintenance
The bass VI was a dream of mine to get - I promptly got it and had tons of fun. The tones are amazing, the ability to have all pickups active or any combination is something more guitars need to have (I know it's legacy feature, but it's good to have choices).
Of course, there are issues with factory setup - truss rod, bridge height, intonation, poor string tension etc. Either give it to a luthier or get hold of the wrenches and measuring tools and set it up yourself. Some dude even dremelled part of the screws on the bridge to get the low E string to proper intonation.

Very good!
Overall it is an amazing instrument. You will just need to adjust it a little bit, especially the lower E string. Other than great sound and feel

Just a few tweaks and it is a fine instrument
Everybody knows about problems with this instrument, intonation and buzzing.
After string change with Fender bass VI strings and minor truss rod adjustment this instrument comes to life. Great sounds, bass lines, chords and it eats distorted sounds perfectly. So many sound options.
I'll probably change the tuners and then it will be perfect, but still it does the job just fine, just don't go crazy with tremolo arm.
