I’m not the first one to report this problem: the Vintage Black version of the EC-1000 series has serious QC issues regarding the input jack. I bought one with a loose jack that lead to signal loss, so I returned it. Then I bought another and it had exactly the same problem. I also tried a Floyd Rose version and a quilted maple version and those two had flawless input jacks. It seems to be an issue with these ‘gold’ colored jacks. It’s a shame… Also, with ALL four EC-1000 models I tried from Thomann the past few weeks, the high strings come loose from the headstock tuners as soon as I try to tune the guitar out the box. Because the strings are cut off so ridiculously short ex-factory, it’s impossible to fit them back in. As a result, I had to sacrifice a set of my own strings FOUR times in a row, just to be able to test the guitars. I’ve been on the mail and the phone with Thomann multiple times but so far no new strings. Yes, they offered me a set but that would void the 30-Day Money Back guarantee on the guitar purchase, they tell me over the phone. It’s a pity….
