This is truly one of the greatest amps I have ever played. As a previous Diezel VH4 owner, I was a bit skeptical at first, but the Big Max has completely surpassed my expectations.
It is a bit less compressed than other Diezels, but it still retains the low-mid character, tightness and clarity that Diezel amps are known for. It also has a great Marshall-style character, while still feeling unmistakably like a Diezel. The depth control adds all the low end you could want from a British-voiced amp, without losing the tightness and definition.
It is also incredibly dynamic. It cleans up extremely well with the guitar’s volume knob and is very sensitive to pick attack, which makes it feel alive and responsive under the hands.
I can honestly say the Big Max has become one of my personal top five amps. It is an incredible amplifier, and I could not be happier with it. Thank you so much, Diezel!
