Dean Markley Promag Plus Pickup

To be honest its the first acoustic pickup I've ever used. I've plugged it straight to a guitar amp and the sound is really poor. Very very low ... you can barely hear it. Supposingly it can not be used for recording or any other uses.Dunno if it does need a preamp or something to be heard.
The conclusion is that I don't use it for the purpose I've bought it... and I wasn't expecting that bad poor sound ...
The build quality seems OK.

I received this pickup and fitted it to my Takamine Guitar.
Found it very simple and easy to use.
I used this product for a couple of weeks and recorded some tracks using my Focusrite soundcard quite satisfactorily.
Unfortunately, it suddenly stopped working altogether a few weeks after purchase, so I contacted Thomann for advice, sent a video back to Thomann as requested by their customer support center and I am now waiting for a reply (4 weeks later).
I can not recommend this pickup.
