Great at amp at low cost

I use this amp in my studio for reamping guitars and sometimes for band rehearsals. I also own an Engl savage 120 and I have to say that the sound coming out of Bugera is similar to that of the savage with the former having better low end response, something that was obvious when I reamped the same signal using the same setup (cabinet, mics etc). Moreover, the Bugera amp doesn't "feel" robust, many chinese parts and although the design is very good it "looks" somewhat cheap. If I had to take an amp out on the road for gigs I wouldn't take this amp, I don't think it could handle it very well, that is why it stays in the studio for reamping, and this, it does well. The power tubes are nice, but didn't like the preamp tube, but that's what a tube amp is like, you have to experiment with different tubes. It is versatile with it's 3 band EQ per channel and I like the XL switch assigned at the crunch and lead channel. For the price tag, it is a good deal, but handle it with care.

At first glance, everything is fine. It looks massive and sturdy.
The first thing I noticed was that the noise gate didn't work, okay, I don't use it anyway. However, they still put a noise gate button, it's nice that it works. If you've played a Marshall plexi, you'll immediately feel the difference.Of course the price is 4 times less than that of Marshall Plexi. The clean channel of the amplifier will sound very boring and thick especially if you have reduced the gain to 0. Therefore it becomes unusable. Otherwise, if you increase the presence, you lose the nice sound from the other two channels. Overall, the price and quality are worth it, but if you have a little more euros (200-300), don't hesitate to get Marshall.

The bugera 333xl is a very nice sounding sturdy amp. Amazing sound for the price. The head has a built in noise gate and reverb with separate knobs to control them. The design of the head is really nice and the amp looks great in the dark when those tube lights up! The tubes are easily replaceable. I use the bugera for playing metal mainly because of the fat low end, but it also has a clean channel and a crunch channel.. I use the head with a bugera cabinet and it sounds really good. Theres also a 4ohms/ 8ohms / 16ohms selector at the back to match your speaker cabinet. The head also has a line out, and send/return. The head alone weights about 20kgs.
