Not quite
This pedal is often compared to the ODR-1. I think the latter is the better pedal. The OD-3 does not sound as good. It has more mids and a top-end that is difficult to deal with.

Compared to Boss SD-1 the sound is thicker and bigger. The other guitarist from my band loved the sound but I was looking for something more similiar to a tubescreamer to boost distortion of my amplifier. It sounded very nice on clean channel, but like I said it's more suited for rock music.

Not for old generation digital amps
Take my note with reserve. I used this pedal with old Fender Mustang digital amp and - i did not like the sound, muddy and dark. This pedal is intended for real amp, not digital modelers, especially old ones. Of course the pedal is mechanicay perfect, sturdy
per Boss standard. I sold it in the end.

Very nice pedal
This overdrive pedal can go from a solo booster (without drive), to overdrive and then to light distortion. The sound (especially through a tube amp) is excellent for classic rock. The build looks very durable!!!
