BOSS ME-90 (Better than ME-80?)
Dan tristan 04.10.2023
I'm a fan of Me-80 for its simplicity like stomp boxes. I am using it in manual mode every time in the live situation specially in the church praise & worship songs.

As a Boss ME-80 User for a long time, I am really excited to see the New Me-90. It finally arrived now my hands and I'm really happy that it came safely after 2 weeks.

I love boss product for its long term durability and quality.
The moment I see and hold the unit, I can tell that the ME-80 is superior in terms of build quality. The Me-90 is solidly built, its made of metal and hard plastic at the bottom, but as a long term user of the previous model, I can tell that the Me-80 is more solid, more heavy, more quality, and its metal all around, the plastics knobs also is better in th old model.

I am still satisfied because of the new Software updates, new pre-amps and the new effects added in the unit, thats the reason I purchase this.
Overall, Its still the best simple multi effects to use and I love it.

Thanks boss & thomann for the good service.

Solid alrounder

Great multi fx board. Upgraded from a pod line 6 live after my buttons stopped working after it's time of release, and all I can say is, it is worth it.

I play mostly metal, so dialing in some heavy tones is most important without adding extra noise into my chain. This pedal board does it all really, for such a reasonable price.

I have also started experimenting with cleaner tones and more ambient settings and it's amazing how versatile it can be. Anything from a rich acoustic vibe to a blackened death metal and everything in between.

It's drop tuning isn't the best, it could be better but paired with a Dunlop cry baby, digitech drop tuner and a better tuner you are all set.

Plus the pc interface is the best I've used in awhile and I really like the amp integration with the katana range (50w great for local pub shows and venues of 100 or less).

The fact you can use it to record to pc is great. Downside is the fact you need to by a bluetooth dongle for the Bluetooth to work with your phone/tablet is annoying, but with how much I play verses how much I tinker with my tone I don't mind not using Bluetooth, but you can also just use a type c-c cable and it works as well, cation: the better the usb cable (3.0 at 45cm) the better, some just don't have the data transfer strength this pedal board needs for data transfer.

Now it holds less profiles than my last multi fx board (32*4 profiles line 6 vs 12*4profile me-90) this is also OK because I never used more than 25 presets in a row, but the trade off is better sounds and better interface (no having to triple click on stuff to just activate like on the line 6). No screen just for tuner (this could be better, but a 10e tuner won't effect the signal change) but no screen isn't a bad thing either, one less failure point.

Power supply, you need to by one as one was not included and you can also run it off batteries (good back up but it will run your wallet dry buying batteries).

Overal very happy with this product, have used it a lot over the last few months and has made my playing sound better without battling dirty power PSUs for my single stomp boxes I used run. It's light weight, great compact design with everything a occasionally gigging Musican can ask for

I've been using the Boss ME-90 for a while now, and it’s quickly become a favorite in my rig. The pedal's intuitive interface makes dialing in a range of effects a breeze, whether I'm going for clean, ambient tones or heavier, distorted sounds. I especially appreciate its robust build quality—it's been a reliable companion on both practice sessions and live gigs. Overall, the ME-90 has significantly expanded my sonic palette and added a lot of creative versatility to my playing.

If you don't want to carry around a big pedal board and dont wanna look at a computer scene for your effects, this is the way to go! I love this multi FX board.

Boss ME-90 quick honest review
kotre 08.01.2026
Total:
The ME-90 feels like a pedal made by people who actually play guitar. It’s simple, reliable, and does exactly what you expect it to do without getting in the way.
Handling:
This is where it really shines. Real knobs, clear layout, no menu-diving headaches. You can tweak sounds on the fly without thinking, which is perfect for practice or live playing.
Features:
Plenty of effects, solid amp models, USB recording, IR loading, and an expression pedal built in. It covers pretty much everything most guitarists need.
Sound:
The tones are very good overall—especially cleans and classic drive—but some high-gain sounds can feel a little digital compared to higher-end modelers. Still more than good enough for gigs and recording.
Quality:
Built like a tank. Metal chassis, sturdy switches, and that classic Boss durability you don’t have to worry about.
Final thought:
If you want a multi-effects pedal that feels natural, sounds good, and won’t fight you, the ME-90 is an easy recommendation.

Worth it
Bryan Maurice 06.10.2025
i bought this a while ago and i actually cant express how worth it, it was. the looping feature is one of my favourite features, i would much rather spend 300 euro on this pedalboard then spending a lot more for a pedalboard that doesent have nearly as many features
