Flagship amp modeller with AIRD technology
At the heart of the BOSS GT-1000 lies AIRD (Augmented Impulse Response Dynamics) technology, delivering amp tones with exceptional realism, dynamic response, and authentic feel - whether through stage monitors, FRFR systems, or traditional amps. Powered by a custom DSP engine with 32-bit AD/DA conversion, 32-bit floating-point processing, and 96kHz sampling, the GT-1000 delivers ultra-high fidelity and lightning-fast patch switching. A clear, backlit display and ergonomic interface keep navigation intuitive, while the latest firmware adds high-gain X Amp models for guitar and an expanded set of AIRD bass preamps and effects - making the GT-1000 equally at home with guitar or bass.
Pro-grade effects and controls
The BOSS GT-1000 features 16 amp types and 116 premium effects, including MDP-powered processors from the DD-500, RV-500, and MD-500 units. Two amp models can be combined per patch, while the Stompbox feature lets players assign shared parameters across multiple presets for consistent control. A large, high-contrast display keeps navigation clear, supported by six quick-access knobs, ten backlit footswitches, and a built-in expression pedal with toe switch. From blending dual amp tones to jumping between rhythm and lead effects at a single tap, the GT-1000 is designed for live flexibility as well as detailed studio work. Housed in a rugged metal chassis, it is always road-ready and built to withstand the rigours of touring.
Flexible I/O and routing
Connectivity on the BOSS GT-1000 includes stereo outputs (with balanced XLRs), two effects loops, MIDI I/O, and dual expression pedal inputs. A multi-channel USB audio/MIDI interface supports high-quality recording, re-amping, and remote editing via BOSS Tone Studio for desktop or mobile. Flexible routing options, AIRD Output Select settings, and 16 user IR slots allow seamless integration into any rig, from traditional backline amps to modern FRFR systems, and a dedicated headphone output rounds out the feature set for silent practice.
Ready for any performance
Combining deep sound customisation with next-generation realism, the BOSS GT-1000 is a remarkable all-in-one solution for both stage and studio. AIRD technology delivers amp emulations that respond like the real thing, while flexible routing options and a wide tonal palette adapt easily to any style and setup. The BOSS GT-1000 can feed one output directly to the PA and another to a guitar cab, switch patches instantly for seamless set transitions, or serve as a headphone amp for silent practice. Whether replacing a traditional amp rig or expanding an existing hybrid system, the GT-1000 consistently delivers professional-grade performance in a compact, lightweight, and road-ready format.
About Boss
The Boss brand has been an important part of the Japanese Roland Corporation since the mid-1970s and has caused a sensation from its inception, especially with its compact effect pedals but also multi-effect units and other helpful tools for guitarists. The company's single effect pedals in particular are legendary and can be found in almost every guitarist's home. An incredible 15 million have been sold to date. With its Katana series, the manufacturer now also offers excellent amplifiers at a very interesting price point.
Versatility at heart
From shimmering cleans and dynamic crunch to searing high-gain leads, the BOSS GT-1000 delivers tones that remain organic and highly responsive to playing dynamics. AIRD technology ensures each model reacts naturally to touch, while onboard effects enhance rather than obscure the instrument's core character. The BOSS GT-1000 also sits effortlessly in a live mix - anchoring rhythm sections with clarity or easily cutting through with expressive solos. Its broad tonal palette works equally well in Metal, Blues, Pop, Funk, and beyond, supported by rugged hardware and versatile connectivity that guarantee consistent results on stage, in rehearsal, or in the studio.
In the spotlight
BOSS Tone Central
The BOSS GT-1000 includes BOSS Tone Studio software, with access to the BOSS Tone Central platform. This free and constantly expanding library features artist-created patches from Steve Lukather, Marty Friedman, Jack Thammarat, and more, alongside a wealth of user-made presets. Patches can be downloaded straight to the unit via internet, making it easy to explore new effects and expand one's tonal palette at any time. The latest firmware update adds a number of bass-specific patches, further broadening the GT-1000's versatility and multi-instrument use.
