AKG C 417 PP? Go ahead! It's a fantastic microphone!
A few months ago I bought an AKG C 417 PP lavalier microphone and, I assure you, I?m delighted with this equipment. As a professor and video classes producer, I use my AKG attached to a TASCAM DR-44WL voice recorder (that I?ve bought at Thomann as well) and the results are amazing. As a omnidirectional condenser microphone (it needs a phantom power to work correctly), the recordings are clear and with no environmental noises or echoes, being extremely good. In short, I strongly recommend the AKG C 417 PP microphone!

A must for remote recording engineers
I got these for working on live recordings with string ensembles. We had 15 minutes of setup for 3 chamber sized ensembles, all different players. My intention was to use a few of these omni lapel mics for extra definition on the Cello and Double Bass.
They worked great, taped under the bridge with some painter's tape. Very usable sound that melded well with the stereo mics with some tweaking. My next attempt will be acoustic guitar in a band setup!
Omni mics, counter to most people's intuitions, are excellent spot mics due to the absence of proximity effect and are more forgiving of placement than their cardioid brethren. If you find yourself needing an affordable way to mount mics to instruments - look no further!

A lavalier with a 3m cable - nice
And it terminates with XLR. No wireless interference. Well constructed and most importantly it sounds great.

Really good
I purchased 3 of these to record a video and audio language course. Not only did they do a spectacular job, but after 8 years of heavy use, they are still going strong. Could not be happier.

Sound Purchase!
Perfect mic, have used it for tv work. Good clear sound and solid construction. Does what it needs to do and hasn’t failed me yet.
